AAA locations in New York now offer E-ZPass transponders at no additional cost to members.

E-ZPass On-the-Go allows AAA members to obtain an E-ZPass tag and open an account without waiting in a cash lane. Tags cost $25, and the full $25 will be credited to the E-ZPass account once the tag is registered.

The Tappan Zee Bridge, Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel and Henry Hudson Bridge already use cashless tolling. By the end of 2017, all other MTA facilities will also be cashless. E-ZPass saves up to 50% on tolls and avoids the hassle of getting a bill in the mail.

Tags can only be sold at AAA locations and cannot be sold online, over the phone, or through the mail.

E-ZPass On-the-Go tags are issued by the New York State Thruway Authority and can be used in the following states: New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Maine, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois.

The tag must be registered before use. E-ZPass users can replenish their accounts with automatic credit card payments, checks or cash.
