• Tuition includes 30 hours of classroom instruction, 12 hours behind the wheel, six hours of observation, and a two-hour parent class. Full payment is expected at registration or, alternatively, paying the classroom fee at registration and the balance by the last class. Checks should be made payable to AAA Driver Training School. Instructors may not accept cash. Cash and credit card payments can be made through the driving school office or a AAA branch office.

  • Students are required to attend all classroom sessions; missed classes must be made up. Notebooks are required and students are expected to take notes.

  • Disruptive behavior is not acceptable, and the AAA instructor reserves the right to call a parent, have a student leave the classroom, or terminate an in-car lesson.

  • Scheduling of in-car lessons can begin during the 30-hour program; however, your account must be fully paid in order for in-car lessons to begin.

  • If the student doesn’t bring their permit to the lesson or if it is damaged (written on, torn, laminated, altered, or otherwise illegible) they cannot be allowed to drive (by law) and will also be charged a $50 fee.

  • Home pick-ups and drop-offs are available in some areas but not all. Classes may also begin and end at the students’ high school or at a AAA location.

  • AAA can also arrange for and meet students for their driving tests, for an additional fee. Brush-up lessons prior to the test can also be scheduled for an additional fee.

  • AAA requests 24 hours notice in the event a student is unable to make a scheduled in-car appointment. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice or no-shows are subject to a $50 no-show/cancellation fee. Saturday or Sunday lessons must be cancelled before 4 p.m. on Friday. Cancellations/no-show fees must be paid 48 hours prior to next lesson or that slot will be reopened for other students.

  • There will be a $25 charge for all returned checks.
  • There will be a $5.00 Administrative cost added to the RMV Driver Education Certificate Fee.

  • If a high school where AAA provides driver education cancels school due to poor weather conditions, any classroom or driving scheduled for that day from that school is also cancelled.

  • Classroom fee deposit is non-refundable.

NOTE: Students must be 15 years and 9 months old before the date of the first scheduled class.
