Introducing the AAA Pet ID Tag Program. Pets are part of our families and deserve special attention if they are ever lost from home. This complimentary program is AAA's way of assisting our members if they have a lost pet, avoiding the need to display personal information on a tag.

Pet safety and peace of mind

Each Pet ID Tag will have a unique serial number registered with their owners' AAA membership. When a lost pet is found, the finder can call the 24-hour AAA call center phone number imprinted on the tag. AAA will attempt to contact the pet owner using the unique Pet ID Tag number and will act as a liaison between the two parties to help reunite the pet to its registered owner. During business hours, AAA will offer the local Branch as a safe meeting place between both parties allowing the pet to get home safely.

Registering is easy

Visit any AAA Branch location to register your pet(s) and pick up their Pet ID Tags. Simply provide your pet's name, type, breed, and color. There is no waiting period for the program, and members will receive a unique Pet Tag immediately after enrolling. Any pet that is able to wear a collar and tag is eligible to enroll in the Pet ID Tag Program.

How do I enroll my pet? +

You can enroll your pet by visiting any AAA Branch location during open business hours.

What kind of pets can I enroll? (can I enroll my pet goat, guinea pig, chicken, etc.) +

Any pet that is able to wear a collar and tag is eligible to enroll in the Pet ID Tag Program.

What do I do if my registered pet goes missing? +

If your registered pet goes missing, call the AAA Pet program at (888) 291-1056 to report your pet lost.

How many pets can I enroll? (for example, I have a dog and two cats) +

There is no limit on enrollment.

How big is the tag? Do I get a collar with it? +

Tags are one inch round. Pet collars are not included.

How do I contact AAA? +

If your pet is missing, call the AAA Pet program at (888) 291-1056 to report your pet as lost. If you find a pet wearing a AAA Pet ID tag, call the Pet ID program to report the pet as found.

What does AAA do when I contact them? +

If you are reporting a missing pet, we will flag your pet as lost and request permission to provide your contact information to the finder if/when your pet is found. If you are reporting a found pet, we will locate the pet owners using the Pet's ID Tag Serial number. We will then request to mediate contact between the finder and the pet owner to get the pet home safely.

Do I call AAA when my pet goes missing? Do they look for them? +

If your pet is missing, call the AAA Pet program at (888) 291-1056 to report your pet as lost. If your pet is reported found, AAA will act as a liaison to assist with reuniting you with your pet.

Will AAA bring the lost pet back to my house? +

AAA acts as a liaison between the pet finder and the pet owner. We do not transport pets. We recommend a safe meeting place such as a local AAA Branch as the meeting point for pet finders and pet owners.
